AD Sports Massage
Alex is a Level 4 Sports Massage Therapist with a CPD qualification in Dry Needling. She offers both treatments at The Health Barn to promote wellbeing, improve movement, prevent injury and for injury rehabilitation. With a wide variety of clients from different backgrounds and with different requirements, Alex understands the importance of keeping the body's soft tissues functional to promote efficient movement and maximise performance whether that be in elite sport or everyday life.
Sports Massage focuses on the manipulation of soft tissues including the skin, fascia, muscles, tendons and ligaments. It is designed to promote healing in these tissues from issues and imbalances caused by physical activity, repetitive strain and trauma. Maintaining good soft tissue health promotes functional movement, increased performance and pain-free living!
Dry Needling involves the insertion of fine acupuncture needles directly into the muscle belly or tendon where there is tension or dysfunction. It increases blood flow to the area and stimulates a healing response in the body. Used alongside a Sports Massage treatment, Dry Needling is very effective in reducing pain and increasing mobility and range of motion.
